Barriertec creates advanced, high-barrier coatings that do not affect the recycling chain and protect paper and cardboard packaging. We develop products and technologies to help our partners in the paper industry and packaging manufacturers through our innovative process.

We offer the IT'S ON solution, a barrier technology developed by our research center, Group Research i.d.
It eliminates polyethylene and all contaminants from fibre-based packaging, making it repulpable and recyclable. Our technology enables us to recover, reuse and recycle paper fibre instead of sending it to landfill.

In addition, when paperboard is recycled (REPULPABILITY), you help preserve the environment with value-added products that protect trees and nature for future generations. So, take the green step, be the change, be repulpable.
We design GREEN barriers and
we sell the science of repulpable packaging
OUR SCIENCE
BARRIERTEC
IT'S ON
TECHNOLOGY
Our high barriers are established and recognized WORLDWIDE. The technology consists of water-based coatings resistant to water vapour, oxygen, carbon dioxide, oils, and greases. The product is price competitive with polyethylene barrier coatings; it is 100% repulpable, unlike the latter.
OUR BARRIERS PACKAGING PRODUCTS
We are currently developing packaging that could revolutionize many markets: coffee cups, milk containers, bagless cereal boxes, self-sealing paper freezer bags, ice cream and yogurt containers, postal delivery bags, and many more.
Our portfolio is primarily in the food industry, but we get requests from all over, including the industrial sector, agriculture, cosmetics, and fashion.
RECYCLING and REUSE
WHAT CAN WE DO
TOGETHER?
Together, we can remove fibre-based
packaging from the landfill, NOW!
Recycling is a critical environmental concern, especially when it comes to paper, because it helps to save trees, which are crucial to the sustainability of our planet. BE Repulpable with us!
Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees and more than 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space
DID YOU KNOW
250
pounds
of carbon
17 trees saved (above) can absorb a total of 250 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year
36,500
gallons
of water
A single large tree can capture and filter 36,500 gallons of water annually. To put it in perspective, the average person in the United States uses 32,000 gallons of water annually. We must conserve forests so that they continue to filter our water resources.
70 %
less air
pollution
Recycled paper produces approximately 70% less air pollution than paper made from raw materials.
40% of
all waste
is paper
Forty percent of all waste going to landfills is paper. Cutting down on paper waste will extend the lives of our landfills.
SUSTAINABLE
Together, we can protect trees and reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, and saving trees is one of the best options for our future.
no waste, no harm!
